The 3rd has always had a drum and bugle band which has in recent years combined with the 1st Orpington Girls’ Brigade. We are one of the few traditional bands left in the London District.
The band practices on a Monday evening from 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Time is spent learning in small groups as well as marching together.
The band occasionally performs at fetes and local parades. It leads our regular parade services and sometimes the annual Battalion parade.
The band takes part in various London District Competitions.
Members also perform in the London District Bugle Band that was originally formed for the Brigade Centenary in 1983. The band performs regularly in the Lord Mayor’s show in November each year.
